I've had this persistent yearning for chocolate lately ...

I need to find a better place to work while at home. I have a half-finished piece of work for Otakon sitting on my floor in my room ... its presence there entails all the craziness a makeshift workstation calls for. Rugs have been pushed aside, I've covered my carpet with a plastic Valentine's Day tablecloth, my paint tray is a sherbert lid (remarkably handy things, those), and the inevitable spread of my art stuff probably doesn't help the preexisting mess in my room. Though I work on the floor a lot (or on the same level with my work ... at school I was prone to climbing on the tables with it) ... I'm feeling kind of cramped. But I shall carry on!

The weekend flew by in a mush of sleeping and Harry Potter, and now I return to filling out job applications like ... well, like a broke gal filling out job applications. But I think I'm going to sleep later than I should tomorrow ... when I wake up naturally, I am quicker to rise to the normal pace of action than I am when forced into consciousness thanks to the murder that is my alarm clock.

Those who have spoken to me have probably noticed that I've been quibbling over words lately. I've also had some bemused commentary by folks on the way I speak in real life (often, not that much different from the way I write). I like using words that are fun to say, sound quirky, or not often heard ... but the increased number of syllables does not necessarily mean a diluted message value.

Andy loaned me Xenogears right before he left school, and I finally got around to playing it (I'm noticing a lot of "finally"s in my writing lately) today. Despite the fact that it has (of course) been out for awhile, very little of the plot has already been spoiled for me (so don't go ruining that, ya'll).

Mag - you like Citan, correct? I agree with you (at least thus far): Citan rocks my socks.

I am interested by how we are forced into constantly revising our thoughts on the situation in the game. I am somewhat less supportive of the reaction of Fei, the main character, to the woes of Lahan (his village). This is basically due to the fact that I just don't understand how he can blame himself in such an extreme angsting manner for the total destruction of Lahan when 1.) it was burning when he got to it, and 2.) most of the population of the village (albeit a crucial three) were alive and well when he came to after the events surrounding his oh-shizzam losing awareness of himself experience.

Ah well, it'll come to me in due time.

Oh yeah - regardless of the cool music, I have come to despise the Blackmoon Forest. Damned hopping. I never thought I'd come to dislike jumping on rocks and trees so much, and I also question how Elly and Fei got "lost" in this forest when the damned thing has directions and signs posted for them.

Random thought, Xenogears = Gears being used to wage a war of fear/because of fear/something like that? Hmm. Please don't hand over a response to that if it involves a major spoiler, instead just assure me that I'll see the meaning sooner or later. : P

I'd say I burned out on LJ there, but I wasn't exactly on fire to begin with ...

The kittens are watching my mouse cursor and/or my text appearing as I type. Their heads are moving in unison. It is so cute. I just can't see what…
