After training with Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance, I thought myself ready to give Final Fantasy Tactics (Teh Original) another try. This time around, I made it through the battle that killed me before (I think what probably happened in that sad attempt is that I let Ramza die), and thus am farther along on my way to comprehending what seems like a very complicated story. FFT:A pales in comparison. Even the fighting is more complex ... all these little issues with Braveness, Faith, and apparently something with the Zodiac? I nearly got myself wiped out (physically and monetarily) more than once before I got all the buttons straight and the menus (more or less) down pat.

This time around, I have a party with much cuteness in it. My two Chemists are named Vanilla and Bean, and I have a Squire named Cookie. I recruited another Squire named Claret ... she was originally named Clara, but I thought I'd keep with my new tasty tradition. Har!

I'm staggering towards Spring Break. The pot that needs to be 24 inches by Saturday afternoon is currently at approximately 13 inches. I'd like to say 14, but that's really far too generous an estimation. I'll be in the ceramics lab tomorrow morning before work, probably after work, and most of Saturday.

We cleaned out Marvin (my computer) today. I've never actually opened up my CPU's case before ... Moouack was a tough old bird who didn't require such delicate procedures despite living in a basement for most of his life. Marvin, on the other hand, has always been much more ... high-maintenence, I suppose you could say. He had begun to make funny noises that concerned me greatly, so we popped his lid (well, his side, really) and discovered that damn, he had a veritable warren of dust bunnies living inside of him. After a thorough session with a can o' air, he is sounding much better and is not freaking me out anymore.

If you don't explain what a room is and I'm feeling curious about the space, I'm probably going to look in it. It was thus that I unwittingly invaded the "brain" of the recording studio on campus. This is a most sacred place where only managers may enter, but I really flouted tradition ... it is most fortunate that my friends were the ones in the studio that day. Heh. No doubt the story will circulate.

Despite last Friday's chill, I stalked birds with varying degrees of success. Despite my most obvious efforts, people kept on walking by and scaring the robins off before I got a satisfactory shot of the damn critters.

I saw a huge-ass barn owl a couple of weeks ago. It was awesome. Too bad I had no camera with which to take a picture. :(

Final Fantasy Tactics can be broken like the will of a dieting fat man in a culinary convention. You don't need skill to beat the game if you just learn how to break it. Think about it... it should come to you, and then you will breeze through it. ^_^;;

It hasn't come to me yet ...
The chocobos are kicking my ass! >.< I want to level up and be less pathetic, so I get myself into this random battle on ... M.something Plains, but the chocobos hand my tush to me on a tray and I can't afford Phoenix Downs! DIE CHOCOBOS DIE.

Re: It hasn't come to me yet ...
Enter into a random battle where there are easy enemies. Kill all of them but one, surround that enemy and let your characters take turns hitting and healing it.

Attack, attack, heal, attack, attack, heal, ad infinitum... until you run out of healing items and spells. By the time that happens, you should have plenty of JP and XP. I was able to get my characters well past level 20 before even tackling the fourth mission that way. I could have kept going, but that was enough to breeze through the rest of the game when calculating the JP and XP you'll earn along the way.

Mmmm....Final Fantasy Tactics... *drool*
I love that game! Obviously, since it was my first cosplay *starry-eyed* The first time I played that game, I got rid of Mustadio. I was like "I don't need you, buh-bye". And then the game said "Oh yes you do need him, Bwa haha!" That reminds me, I guess I still need to beat it, lol. I'm at the very end, just need to go and bonk heads ^^

Stalking wild animals is fun. That's a "berry" nice pic btw.

Also, I beat Majora's Mask today, story's in my journal, hehe.

Savor the Flavor
I've been playing Jade Cocoon 2 recently. I gave all my beasts food-related names. Vanilla, Mint, Raspberry, Blueberry. But, then it got too hard to find flavors to "match" the elemental colors. I started naming them after random foods. Really random. Pickle, Gooseberry, Schnitzel, Wonderbar ...

I gave up on that, though, it made me too hungry when I played.
