Fireworks ... and brimstone?
My family and I staked out a spot on the top of the hill overlooking the city in the middle of the afternoon. It rained for quite a while, but eventually cleared up enough for the show to proceed at 9:38 p.m. (no, I'm not joking about the offbeat time).

There are no thumbnails for these at the moment, mostly because I'm feeling lazy, and partially because I actually like several of these.

Somehow, a lot of these turned out rather apocalyptic.

WOW... I've never been able to get fireworks so clearly! Kudos for those pics, they are awesome! Doesn't Pittsburgh know how to put on a 4th of July Fireworks display? I've never seen a city do as many fireworks as Pittsburgh does.

Anyhow, I hope your 4th went well. Hugs!

I took about 100, and these are my picks. My tips are pretty basic ... use a tripod, and hands off the camera! I eventually realized mine had a couple seconds of delay as it thought real hard about the fireworks, and used that time to remove my hands from the body entirely.
