I will admit that I've gotten boring. I've retreated to using pencil on computer paper folded in half because it's easier to hide under my keyboard (though I still get caught occasionally). Due to a lack of time and peace, I more or less just draw female character ideas or clothing concepts, and will only spend a day (max two) on each. Most are incomplete. The scans have not been cleaned. (Apparently, this scanner renders minute uneven-ness of the paper as blue. Intriguing! But anything that scans is, at this point, better than nothing.)
Still, any comments are appreciated, because I've kept these more or less to myself since my last scanner got busted.
Don't worry, there isn't a doodle for each day of each month. 1.) I couldn't always doodle, and 2.) I've cut back even further to the ones that have some redeeming quality to them (in my eye, at least).
Possible character design for a story that is slowly occurring. I've got people and a place, but nothing for them to do. D'oh!
Clothing that only a skinny chick could wear. I seem to have a fascination for cute flats or low heels that have no arch support and ankle straps. Too bad my feet are flat.
A doodle version of me, minus glasses, pointing to where I carelessly ripped the paper. She was pointing before the tear occurred, but I'm going to pretend it happened the other way around.
Totally incomplete, but I liked her proportions and her shirt enough to scan it.
Sometimes I think that steampunk fans have a tendency to attach overinflated names to their creations, so, to get in on the fun, I did too. I also wanted poofy overalls and something I could wear my awesome boots with again. This is on the list of things to make someday. I am sad, however, that I cannot draw gadgets worth a darn.
Unfinished because I realized she may be showing a bit too much butt for my coworkers' tastes. Hahaha!
She would be steampunky if she had some gadgets. (I was thinking a fan made of clock hands, since time elements are so darn prevalent.) I also still fail at drawing hats. This dress falls into a "maybe will be made" category.
This is around when I started playing Harvest Moon: DS Cute. Pera would be my inept farmer/rancher/archaeologist. Posted mostly because I like how I turned her pigtails into curls.
Her name was Dana. She was disturbing. This doodle was a complete accident, as I started out drawing something completely different and came up with a devilish eight year old instead. I love Dana, and I swear I have to write a story featuring her. She looks so cutely evil!
So when some people think of fairies, they think of woods, flowers, snow, and other examples of beautiful nature. Somehow or another, I thought about it and came to the conclusion that corn + 1970s = fairy! I might make this some day.
Posted mostly for the hat. The archless flats make a reappearance.
I like the skirt and the shoes. She is meant to have freckles, not a pox.
I was feeling cranky.
I still can't think of anything for this poor girl of mine to wear. (I was stumped in 2003 and remain so to this day.) Ariai has been around since earthphoenix and I used to haunt aol role playing chatrooms back in the 1990s. How did everyone dark and angsty fit into the corners of those bars, anyway? The world may never know.
I imagine the vest and pants being made with some pinstripe fabric. Please excuse my quick attempt at a fancy stool.
And that, as they say, is that.
