Random Videogame-ness
Here's something that bugs me about the Tetris for the N64, the one in which you "collect lines" to build what they deem the wonders of the world (so far it just seems to be some random building in that "style") ... it takes so many damn lines to build a wonder, and you can't choose which one to build. I'm talking about up in the millions of lines for some of the "more advanced" wonders, like the Russian. I've had this game for a long time now, and I'm only ... maybe halfway finished building the second wonder, the Egyptian one (and I'm going to have a cow if it's a pyramid). The only chance in hell you have of ever building all these wonders is if you have far too much free time on your hands, and/or have a severe obsession ... and if you are one of the lucky souls for whom the blocks do not seem to blend together after you've been playing for awhile.

I'm not a bad player, and I know the tricks to get more lines (though I do not often execute them, or execute them only when I'm just about to die so it doesn't matter anyway) ... I just don't like Tetris that damn much, thank you.

So, I'm waiting for the end of the world to come in Majora's Mask (though I plan to prevent it at the last minute as I usually do if I'm hanging around when it occurs). In the meantime, I'm amusing myself by running around aimlessly and defeating the temple bosses over again (though I started late in the night on the Second Day, I have ample time in which to kick boss ass). Though I still flinch when I get hit, I'm no longer worried about losing my life in the boss chambers - save disaster or stupidity, I'll outlast the boss no matter what. So I've gotten a bit bolder, and more experimental. Well ... that, and the Oni Link mask is awesome.

::Link dons the Oni Mask, and Oldolwa jumps down to begin the fight::
Sakaki - Dammit, he's still huge compared to me. Well, DIE, OLDOLWA!
::Oni Link jumps right on in. His sword does not block as much as a shield does, despite its size, so he gets hit once before Sakaki just starts swinging. Oldolwa takes five or six hits and is down for the count::
Sakaki - ...
::Link looks up. No, no scarabs falling from the ceiling. No hoardes of locusts descending down upon him. Link looks around. No ring of fire anywhere to be seen, either. Link looks down, and Oldolwa dissolves in blue flame::
Sakaki - Yup. Dead as a doornail. No bugs or anything. WHOO!
::Link goes and rescues the Deku Princess like this is something one would normally be doing at three in the morning on a beautiful glowy night with a full, if somewhat intimidating, glary moon::

I really should write down my adventures with the LoZ games someday. Remember trying to kill Princess Zelda? I sure do. Getting eaten by Gyorg? Fond memories, baby.

I miss RO. The more I watch Legolas, the more I want to play as my archer, Sakaki. >.>

Yes, he is a very good archer. *_*

I remember trying out archery class when I was little. I was terrible ... I didn't have enough arm strength to fully extend the bow, so I never, ever, ever got anywhere near the target. ^^;;;

I think the wonders are to encourage multiplayer games.. becasue like, the more people you have, the more lines you can add. My freind who played it often with his college buddies got nearly all the wonders before he went and gave the game to someone else like a moron >o

Videogame advice from someone who should not be giving videogame advice
(1) Stick with the Game Boy Tetris. Much more addicting. Or better yet, if you have the Super NES or an emulator, get Tetris And Dr. Mario. It'll keep you occupied for hours.

(2) You tried to kill Zelda?! O_o;;

Re: Videogame advice from someone who should not be giving videogame advice
I have both Tetris and Dr. Mario from way-back-when when they first released them for the Gameboy. They don't keep me occupied for hours no matter what I do with 'em ... I just get bored after awhile, or I get annoyed when things get going so fast, you can't make any decisions at all and then you die. ^^;

And yes, I've tried to kill Zelda. More than once. o_O I've tried to make her fight Ganon (after all, this whole escapade was her idea!). I've also tried to commit suicide in game because I didn't want to follow her out of the tower. I've tried to leave her behind. ^_^

I freaking loved that game! BUt I gave up when I realized that I didn't have the attention span to play every day over and over and over again just to collect masks. So I gave my N64 and Zelda games to a crack baby down the stree when I lived in Memphis. BUt now I want it back ;_;

Oni Link is awesome.

::Oni Link flings energy off the end of his sword::

Sakaki - ... whoa.

I just wish you could wear that mask everywhere ... but I guess then the Chuchus wouldn't stand a chance. You'd brush by them and they'd explode on contact. Hmm, sounds like an easy way to get magic potions ...
